Interviewee: Mr. Ji Wenbo, one of China Most Famous Fashion Designer; the owner of China " Golden Prize" ,which is the highest prize for fashion designers in China; the designer director of China Lirang Garment Co.,ltd
Background: "Lirang" is honorned "2007-2008 China Famous Brand Prize". Mr. Ji Wenbo joined Lirang in 2001 nearly for 10 years. Anybody will mention Ji Wenbo when mentioning Lirang.
Emcee: As the designer director, how do you value Lirang?
Ji: Lirang created in 2000. For 8 years, it developed very fast in brand building,market network and design concept.Lirang has 4 series: tailored suit,leisure wear, sporty wear and fashion wear. So it is warmly welcomed by businessmen. We have large quantity of clients.
Emcee: The concept of Lirang is " Delicate not simlple", how can you express it on your design?
Ji: Our brand orientation is business men's wear.Businessmen pursuit a kind of " Delicate not simlple" high quality life style.We call for the concept in our design and business operation.
Emcee: Can you forcast the 09spring/ summer men's wear trend?
Ji: This year's fashion colour is green and blue hue for 09spring/ summer men's wear.For this year's Lirang,we add a lot fashion elements,much more leisure and sporty.
Emcee: In2007, you took part in Milan Fashion Week. This is the first time for Chinese Men's Wear to attend Milan Fashion Week.In 2008, you and your brand attended Tokyo Fashion Week. This is the first time for Chinese fashion brand to attend the Fashion Week. Can you share with us your story?
Ji: I hope more and more Chinese brands to attend world fashion week. Let the world know more about China fashion industry. To communicate with the world is vital important for Chinese fashion designers.
Emcee: About the "Fashion Designer's Plagiarize Affair", how do you evaluate the designer's imitation and using for reference?
Ji: China is a long history country. Our culture is very prosperous.That means we have abound of creative resources for our fashion designers. Even overseas designers sometimes uses China elements.I advocate originally created products.
Emcee: Under the economic crisis, some oveaseas fashion designers changed their style to match the market. Will you do so? What is your suggestion for China desigers?
Ji: As a designer,you should have your own idea,your own image and your own products.Not any good products are welcomed by the market.
