China: Wenzhou clothes begins "going to the countryside"

When the global economic crisis has produced a big impact on the sales performance of many apparel brands, a few Wenzhou clothing companies have focused their attention on the market of villages and towns. Considering the great potential in the rural consumption market, some enterprises have worked out the plans of going to the countryside, taking this as a new increase point of the brand development. RYB Group is now planning and preparing some discount stores targeting the markets of villages & towns or mixed urban/rural areas. Zhejiang Lifeliven Garment intends to explore over 20% of the town and township markets, and Chairman Mr. Zheng Chenai of the Wenzhou Fashion Association, who manages the brands LZN and Aobenni, are also enhancing the development of the market of villages and towns.
