In the latest Canton Fair, the Ministry of Commerce organized a match-making conference between foreign trade companies, Hong Kong-invested enterprises and domestic buyers. It is the first time to open the door for domestic trade companies in the history of Canton fair in the past 50 years.
The impact of international market depression is growing. Transferring export goods into domestic selling is a new try to invigorate circulation and enlarge consumption. According to Men Xiaowei, the vice director of Trade Service Dept. of MOC, the match-making conference was a platform to establish partnership with export-oriented companies and domestic buyers, as well as setting up domestic selling channel, then extending domestic market.
Men said it was not a temperary meature to solve the export problems, but a constructive idea to establish a commodity circulation network system in the new situation and create a new commodity distribution way. While Men also said there were gaps in the business operation methods, trading measures as well as the methods of settling accounts for export-oriented companies and domestic buyers. The enterprieses themselves should make innovation and find ways to meet these challenges.
