May 24, 2009 China’s University Students Fashion Week was held in Guangzhou International Textile City, which organized by Guangdong Clothing & Accessories Industry Association, Guangdong Fashion Designers Association, Guangdong Textile & Clothing Education Association and Guangzhou International Textile City.
Currently, financial crisis bring unprecedented difficulties to textile and clothing industry. “Made in Guangzhou” suffered a big loses in overseas market. According to statistics, Guangdong’s total export of last year is 25.35 billion U.S. dollars, down 25.3%. This year, total exports of first quarter dropped by 8.1% year-on-year.
However, there are many companies still support to this fashion week such as Guangzhou International Textile City, WSM, Tuzama, Nengsheng Textile, Yong Feno, BY Tex etc.
