In April, Zhejiang’s total imports and exports are 15.1 billion U.S. dollars, fell 19.6% over the same period last year, while the imports fell 20.6% and exports fell 19.1%. The trade has surplus of 5.99 billion U.S. dollars, fell 17.8%.
According to customs statistics, Zhejiang Province foreign trade dropped for asixth consecutive month from last September, the cycle length is more than 1998 Asian financial crisis. Some import-export companies told the main reasons are shrinking overseas markets, appreciation of RMB.
