The recent news of two Chinese companies attempting to take over the Chinese operations of the iconic fashion brand; Pierre Cardin has brought about a sense of euphoria and skeptism in the Chinese textile and garment sector.
Speaking on the subject, the Secretary General of China National Garment Association,Mr Zhuo said that "The bidding by the Chinese firms is a sign of maturity in China's apparel industry and they possess the prowess to accomplish the takeover??.
But at the same time industry experts are highly skeptical of the ability of the Chinese enterprises to manage and evolve the brand since the Pierre Cardin brand has become highly fragmented, since the licenses have been handed over to numerous agents.
