China Apparel Interview with Mr Chen Zhonghua, WSM Sales Manager of East China

Ret: WSM is positioned as European style Women's wear. Could you tell us some features of European women's wear?

Mr Chen Zhonghua: WSM has European collection because our design is inspired by Europe and European fashion trend. Even the way of life we encourage is European.

We spend a lot in the product research and development. We work with top design offices in France and Italy. The design comes out most fashionable. Our design is for free match. Our target customers are women from 25 to 33 in mental age.

Ret: In 2009, MSN bought Easterly. What does it mean to your mergers and acquisitions plan?

Mr Chen Zhonghua: From the aspect of our brand strategy, we want to become a large sized group. We want to be the first women's company going public in China.

Ret: Since Easterly is not a mature company, is your acquisition risky?

Mr Chen Zhonghua: In fact, every acquisition bears risk. Take love for example, if you are mature and are in a better circumstance, you won't fall in love with someone who is innocent. From another point of view, enterprises with potential growth have a higher starting point.
