In order to search for cheaper producers, some foreign purchasers go straight to shoes enterprises in Guangdong to place orders rather than through Chinese traders. However, when they arrive there, they find almost all enterprises raise offers.
According to latest statistics from Guangzhou Customs, the export volume of shoes from Jan to Apr in 2010 in Guangdong is 1.32 billion, with the value of 3.43 billion US dollars, increasing 18.5% and 9.9% respectively compared to the same period last year. The average price of every pair is 2.6 US dollars, declining 7.3%. It is the lowest price in 2009.
In the economy crisis, many shoes enterprises shut down. With the recovery of economy, most shoe enterprises have lots of orders. Under such condition, producers all plan to increase prices to 10% to 20%.
At present, some enterprises begin to pay attention to the added value. They become to realize that low price strategy cannot work forever.
