Qinghai Tibetan carpet international exhibition was launched on 22nd, June. The exhibition was organized by Ministry of Commerce, Qinghai provincial government and Tibet Autonomous Government. The theme of this exhibition is promoting national culture, making the best of resource and improving people's life. The first carpet exhibition was held in 2004. Since then, the carpet industry developed very rapidly. Now, there are 11 Tibetan carpet enterprises in Qinghai.
Hand-made Tibetan carpets are made from natural materials. Its excellent craftsmanship makes it an artwork which is collected by lots of people. It is learned that yarns for Tibetan carpet are knitted from wools of Tibetan sheep. Plant or mineral dying materials are used to dye.
