In the first half Fujian exported the luggage and bags worth 860 million U.S. dollars, stoot at 34.6% growth compared with previous year. Most of these exports went to markets in America and EU countries, according to report from Fuzhou Customs.
The customs report said the continuing growing of production costs has weakened the price competitiveness on exports, on one hand the prices for imported leather and synthetic leather surged by 15.3% and 52.2%; on other hand the labor costs in coastal areas grew by 20% to 25% in the first half of this year.
The report suggests that enterprises should make efforts on creation brand, developing marketing skills and technological innovation, so as to expand their product's outlet.
