Peak plans to open 500 new stores by the second half of 2010, bringing its total store number to 7,200, according to a separate report by qq.com citing Peak CEO Xu Zhihua. The company plans to increase the numbers of its basketball-themed stores to 50 from 28 by the end of this year and expects the number to exceed 100 by 2011, according to the announcement.
In addition Peak has formed a partnership with Alibaba's consumer-focused e-commerce site Taobao.com to conduct an e-commerce trial, reported cnfol.com July 30.
