Results of the preparation phase of CHIC 2010 have made it clear that the Chinese apparel industry has recovered from the shock of crisis. It is again more than ever occupied with itself and its daily business, which is being conducted in a better mood now than just a year ago.
CHIC has been co-organized by China National Garment Association, China World Trade Center Co., Ltd., and Sub-council of Textile of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade. CHIC 2010, which is the 18th session, will be held in the new China International Exhibition Center on March 28-31, 2010.
There will be ten zones in the 100,000-square-meter exhibition hall, which are: Men's Business Attire/Business Attire, Casual / Sporty / Jeans/ Street Wear, Leather, Infant and Children's Wear/ Maternity Wear, Women 's Wear/ Cashmere / Bridal's Wear/ Formal Wear/ Body and Intimate Wear, Women's Premium Business Attire/ Ladies'Wear and etc. over 900 exhibitors from 23 countries and regions have attended the Fair. The number of overseas exhibitors increases comparing to last year. They are from Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Finland, Turkey, the United States, Japan, South Korea, etc.
One thing to be noticed is that apparel retail sales down in volume but up in value in Q3 2009. Apparel retail sales during Q3 2009 were up over 20 percent in value over the same period of last year. Moreover, in the first three quarters of 2009, total profits value and profits per capita of China s apparel industry edged up 17.
3 percent and 8.95% y/y respectively. All these fully prove that the growth in productivity of China apparel industry has been impressive in recent years. And innovation has brought new life to the production segment of the business and fulfills the essential preconditions for economically efficient apparel production.
