An average year-on-year increase of 23 percent in the value of exports for the first quarter (Q1) has been reported by the domestic textile firms, which had joined the Taiwan Textile Federation s (TTF s) guidance program for improving their marketing skills.

As per TTF, the overall Q1 exports from 18 companies, that were part of the guidance program and had received due support to strengthen their ties with international marketing partners and swell their supply networks, totaled for 3.16 percent of the country s textile exports.

Under the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Bureau of Foreign Trade had formed the federation to introduce the four-year project in 2009.

For the current year, TTF s aim is international marketing and developing global supply chains.

Further more, TTF had also conducted meetings between the companies partaking in the guidance program and Europe and United States-based marketing advisers. Experts were also invited to Taiwan to conduct workshops on acquiring energy.

In order to encourage sales, the federation has also provided to the firms, foreign tours to places such as United States, Indonesia and Thailand.

The second stage of this federation aims at intensifying the manufacturing-distribution supply chains between global purchasers and Taiwanese textile businesses, informed TTF.
