BEIJING, April 23 -- From April 16 to June 30, five Crowne Plaza hotels in Shanghai are holding an Australian steak promotion in an attempt to attract foreign diners during the expo period. These hotels are serving up some of Australia's most revered cuts of meat, along with Taltarni Wine and Coopers Beer to wash them down. The hotels are essentially welcoming patrons to embark a culinary journey right to the heart of the outback.

Two types of steak will be available during the promotion, the 'Crowne Steak' and the 'Ladies Steak.' The Crowne Steak is a 300 gram premium rib-eye cut, served with a slice of herb butter, and fresh arugula salad with grilled cherry tomatoes, priced at 238 yuan ($34.87) per person. The Ladies Steak, made from grass fed tenderloin, is half the volume of the Crowne Steak, and is priced at 188 yuan ($27.54) per person. Also available at the feast is the 'Asian Seabass' or Barramundi, the fillet of which is smoked using tree-bark. The Barramundi is priced at 218 yuan ($31.94) per person.

"The steaks are pretty juicy and thick. I would definitely recommend having a glass of red wine or a glass of ice cold beer with them," said He Wenqing, a 25-year-old girl who attended the steak promotion's opening ceremony.

These delectable cuts of meat can be found at the Crowne Plaza Century Park, Crowne Plaza Fudan, Crowne Plaza Shanghai, Crowne Plaza Lake Malren and Crowne Plaza Pudong. As part of the promotion, there is a chance to win two round trip flight tickets provided by the airline Qantas.
