June 8-Vice Minister Niu Dun met with the visiting Executive Advisor of Norinchukin Research Institute Co., Ltd, Mr. Yoshio Kobayashi (former Vice Minister of Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries), to exchange opinions on bilateral agricultural policies and issues of common concerns.
Vice Minister Niu first expressed his appreciation for the long-term contribution of Mr. Yoshio Kobayashi to Sino-Japan agricultural exchanges and cooperation, and introduced China's agricultural and land polices in rural areas.
Vice Minister Niu pointed out that agriculture in both countries shared many commonalities and was mutually supplementary. At present, the two sides have carried out effective cooperation in personnel and technological exchanges. In the future, efforts will be made to strengthen cooperation in agro-product quality and safety, agricultural information technology, and the construction of agricultural market system.
Mr. Yoshio Kobayashi agreed with the Vice Minister, and stated his willingness to continue with the work to promote bilateral agricultural cooperation and exchanges.
Xie Jianmin, Deputy Director-General of MOA Department of International Cooperation was present at the meeting.
