The beginning of a cold storm and rain in the region of Murcia means something "very positive" for the farmers, since as ASAJA Murcia considers that "this atmospheric phenomena is very beneficial for the Winter cultivations, specially the fruit, cereals, almonds, vine, citrus and vegetables", as their Secretary General, Alfonso G lvez Caravaca pointed out.
For ASAJA Murcia the last storms constitute a "step forward" for the fields in the region of Murcia, since they have positive effects in the harvest of fruit and vegetables, since "the drop in the temperature and the rain will regulate production and the consequent harvesting of those products during Winter", stated in communication made by Caravaca.
In that sense, the quantity and the way the rain came was "very good" to this year's cultivation. Adding to the temperature drop, it contributes to improving the consumer's expectations and the need harvest the vegetables in perfect conditions.
Despite the crisis on the fields of Murcia, those climatic circumstances "give some breath to the farmers as they mean good news to the production and might mean that national and European consumers feel like buying our products", according to Mr. G lvez Caravaca words.
