Discussing CSR and sustainability issues with guests from Japan

On June 18, 2010 a delegation from Japan visited CANGO to talk about CSR and sustainability in China. The delegation consisted of Ms. Yuri Usami of Denso Corporation , Mr. Takeshi Nozawa, Director of EcoNetworks Co. and Mr. Kazunori Kobayashi, Manager of Japan for Sustainability . The Japanese guests were accompanied by Mr. Peng Jilai of SynTao Company Ltd., a consulting company CANGO is closely cooperating with in its CSR program.

Ms. Dagmar Woehlert, Senior International Advisor of CANGO, introduced the CANGO CSR work. Ms. Wang Xiangyi, CANGO Project Manager, gave an insight into the environmental work and the various networks CANGO is engaged in, all related to sustainability issues.

Ms. Usami of Denso Corporation talked about the development of the corporation, especially of Denso China which was established in the mid 1990s and is a leading supplier of automotive technology. Denso has developed an advanced CSR program with activities throughout Asia. It is now interested to further promote CSR activities in China mainly in the fields of environment and support for disabled people, looking for cooperation partners also among Chinese NGOs and therefore considering CANGO a valuable partner.

Mr. Nozawa and Mr. Kobayashi introduced their work in terms of CSR, mainly directed to establishing platforms and forums to include various stakeholders into CSR discussions and exchange.

Apart from cooperation in the field of CSR, EcoNetworks Co. and Japan for Sustainability will be interesting partners for networking on sustainability issues, with CANGO establishing the links to the relevant NGO networks in China.
