Chengdu stages animation Et games fair

The 1st Western ACG Fair 2010 Chengdu, sponsored by the departments of culture of Sichuan provincial government and Chengdu municipal government, was held Dec.11-12 in Shuangliu County in southern Chengdu.

Officials from China Games Industry Association and the country leading interactive entertainment and media companies, including 10 National Center of Animation and Cartoon Games and Shanda Interactive Entertainment, as well as experts and cartoonists from the Chinese mainland, Taiwan province and Japan, attended the event. 32 contracts on cultural and creative industrial programs were signed at a ceremony in the county on Dec.11.

The animation and cultural and creative industry in Chengdu and Sichuan has made a signifi cant progress, with some 18 thousand people working in the sector, said Dou Weiping, deputy director of Sichuan Provincial Department of Culture.
