Tourism reaps bumper harvest

A report by an offi ce of the national tourism administration published on Wednesday shows that the tourism industry of the country gained a robust 15% increase in revenue year-on-year during the Golden Week of the Spring Festival holidays, with Jiangsu, Sichuan and Shandong being the top winners of income fromthe sector.

Department of tourism of Sichuan said colorful and well-prepared cultural programs with distinctive local characteristics contributed partly to the revenue growthfrom local tourism. At the same time, top restaurants in Chengdu saw a two-digital income increase over that of last year.
