E-Mart to open Shanghai Mall in time for 2010 World Expo
According to E-Mart s Chinese headquarters, the South Korean supermarket retailer plans to open its first shopping mall on Shanghai s Caobao road.
This project is reported to be in progress and is expected to be opened before the 2010 Shanghai World Expo.
With a total area of 50,000 square meters, E-Mart's new shopping mall will be developed into a comprehensive project which integrates a large market, apparel, dining, and entertainment. It covers four floors, including one below ground-level. It will also have over 500 parking spaces.
Unlike other overseas retail giants who develop their own real estate, E-Mart will lease its first shopping mall.
