Ikea to phase out incandescent light bulbs in U.S.
Ikea, the Swedish furniture chain, will phase out all incandescent lights bulbs in U.S. stores starting Aug. 1, with the goal to eliminate them by the start of next year.
The world s largest home furnishing retailer said it wants shoppers to switch to energy saving light bulbs like LED or compact fluorescent lights.
New efficiency standards require lamps and lighting equipment to use less energy starting in 2012.
Ikea operates 37 stores in the U.S.
