Uniqlo operator s Sept-May group net profit up

Fast Retailing Co on Thursday reported an increase in group sales and profit for the first nine months of the current business year attributed to new winter lines of clothing and sales promotion in Japan as well as expanding overseas operations.

For the September-May period, the Uniqlo store operator logged a group net profit of 67.18 billion yen, up 35.2% from a year earlier, on sales of 659.06 billion yen, up 22.7%. For its full business year, the company revised downward its group net profit, now anticipating 67.50 billion yen from its earlier projection of 71 billion yen, on sales of 815 billion yen, down from an earlier-forecast 834 billion yen.
