Western China enters new age of in-depth development

Western China takes on a new look after ten years since the implementation of the West Development. Personnel present at the 14th Investment and Trade Fair for Cooperation between East and West China during this time universally held while looking forward to the future that western China is welcoming a new age of in-depth development in the view of the globe.

Director of the Center of Western Economy Development and Study under the National Development and Reform Commission Gao Qing stated that under the guidance of the global economy, industrial shift and ecology idea, the West Development is currently in a new phase of in-depth and scientific development. The western China should in the domestic and foreign environment of difficulties and competitiveness and opportunities exert its advantages of a large room for manoeuvre and vast potential of growth to realize the sustainable economic rise and social development through in-depth development.

In the past 10 years, western China has made obvious achievements in infrastructures and ecological environment, with characteristic and dominant industries growing rapidly and the overall level of economic industries apparently uplifted. The shift of industries from the east to the west shows an obvious trend and western China has gradually become a prime place of investment particularly in the east and west interactive strategy.
