China s FDI Statistics in Q1 of 2010

According to the statistics of the Ministry of Commerce, the number of newly-approved overseas-funded enterprises amounted to 5,459, up by 19.87% year on year. The actual use of FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) rose by 7.65% year on year to US$23.443 billion. And in March, the number of newly-approved overseas-funded enterprises reached 2,296, up by 28.05% year on year. And the actual use of FDI rose by 12.08 % to US$ 9.418 billion.

In the first quarter of 2010, the actual use of FDI in manufacturing was down by 10.3% year on year to US$ 11.1 billion, and its proportion in total foreign capital was down to 47.3% compared with 56.9% in the same period of 2009; and in service, up by 25.4% year on year to US$ 10.6 billion, and its proportion up to 45.2% instead of 38.7% in the same period of last year.
