Integration of Shenzhen Special Economic Zone Approved

Shenzhen municipal party secretary and acting mayor Wang Rong recently revealed while delivering a speech at the first session of the fifth CPPCC of the municipality that the integration scheme for Shenzhen special economic zone has been approved by the State Council. Wang said that as of July 1, the scope of the economic zone will be expanded to the whole city.

It was reported that in the wake of expansion of the special economic zone, the existing administrative jurisdiction shall be temporarily kept. In accordance with the development, Guangdong province and its related departments will be in the future responsible to raise measures for administrative jurisdiction of the special economic zone that will be submitted for approval according to the procedures.
