China s FDI Statistics in the First Five Months of 2010
According to the statistics recently released by the Ministry of Commerce, the actual use of FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) rose by 14.31% year on year to US$38.921 billion. And the actual use of FDI in May rose by 27.48% to US$8.132 billion.
In the first five months of 2010, the number of newly-approved overseas-funded enterprises amounted to 9,638, up by 22.15% year on year. And in May, the number of newly-approved overseas-funded enterprises reached 2,132, up by 29.29% year on year.
The actual use of FDI by sectors in the first five months: in agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery, the actual use of FDI was up by 85.49% year on year, accounting for 1.63% of total FDI; in manufacturing, the actual use of FDI was down by 3.85% year on year, accounting for 47.32% in total FDI; in the service industry, it was up by 32.05% year on year, accounting for 44.85% in total FDI.
