PMI rose to 51.7% in August
Based on the report jointly issued by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) and China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP) on September 1, the manufacturing Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) was 51.7% in August, up 0.5 percentage point from a month earlier.
This is the first recovery of PMI after the decline for 3 consecutive months with the PMI continuously staying above 50% of the critical point, indicating that the manufacturing economy of China is generally on the rise.
