NDRC: roughly 3% CPI to be achieved this year
The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) stated on September 15 that though the CPI in August reached a high position of 3.5%, a comprehensive analysis of numerous factors indicated that it is completely probable to achieve the expected adjustment and control target of roughly 3% of CPI throughout the year .
The NDRC stated while analyzing the reason why CPI in August reached the highest point in the first 8 months that on one hand, it was affected by the short-term factors of increasing consumption during the festival and others; and on the other hand, it was also connected to the recovery rise of prices of live pigs after the continuously low-profile operation in the first half of the year.
