Turnover of China s e-commerce leaps in Q2

Total turnover of China s e-commerce jumped 10 percent in the second quarter from a year ago to 1.1 trillion yuan (161 billion U.S. dollars). Sales of B2C (Business-to-Consumer) business, or online retail sales, nearly doubled from April to June to 111.23 billion yuan. The number of online shoppers hit 109 million at the end of last year, or 28.4 percent of China s total Internet population. Total turnover of China s e-commerce reached 3.8 trillion yuan last year, up 22 percent year on year, according to data released by the Ministry of Commerce.
