Wangfujing to Set Up Stores in Fuzhou

Wangfujing Department Store opens two stores in Fuzhou, Fujian Province. Wangfujing decided to open one store in the city s central business area (CBD) Henglicheng at the beginning of 2011 and will open another one in Chating area. The former one will complete its decoration and will open for business by the end of this year and it is aimed at high-end market. The news is confirmed by a senior manager in the group.

Wangfujing Department Store, previously known as Beijing Department Store, is one of the biggest retail enterprises that is committed to general merchandise and is now listed in Shanghai Stock Exchange.

Wangfujing wanted to enter Fuzhou many years ago and last October, it established its headquarters of both Fuzhou and Fujian, a move which a lot of people though strange as retailers usually set up stores before headquarters. However, this showed the company s eagerness to go into Fuzhou s market.
