In the morning of April 14th the Yushu County in Qinghai province witnessed a big earthquake which caused great casualties and property losses. The aftershocks have not ended at present, and the local people badly need reliefs. McDonald's (China) Limited today announced that it will donate two million CNY through the McDonald s Uncle House Charity which affiliated to the Song Qingling Fund. The money will be used for the relief work in the county.
Zeng Qishan, Chief Executive Officer of McDonald's (China) Co., Ltd., said: As a corporation which has a strong sense of social responsibility, McDonald s deems the contribution to our society as one of its corporation values. The people who live in Yushu County, Qinghai province had suffered a rare earthquake disaster.
And this is a critical moment for corporations like McDonald s to fulfill their social obligations. We hope that our donation not only could help effectively the relief work in Yushu County, but also could stimulate more corporations to help the people in the disaster area. We will pay close attention to the development of the disaster, and we will assume our obligations at the same time.
Meanwhile, McDonald's (China) Limited has launched a lot of fund-raising activities within the corporation, mobilizing its employees to donate money for the people who had suffered from the earthquake. The collected money will be properly transferred by McDonald s through relevant channels to Yushu County.
