On Jan. 19 Home Inns entered the market in the west region of China when it held a foundation-laying ceremony for its Yitel hotel in Qujiang District, Xian an, Shaanxi Province. The hotel will open by the end of the year. Home Inns announces that it will open 3 to 4 Yitels this year and the number will reach 50 in five years. After launching Yitel in Shanghai in the late 2008, the hotel chain became more focused on improving the existing hotels and slowed its expansion plan.
Yitel, a medium- and high-end brand of Home Inns, is a business hotel that adopts 4-star standards and the price is between 600 and 900 Yuan, according to reports. Sun Jian, chief executive officer of Home Inns, says that there is no banquet hall or a big lobby in any of the Yitel hotels and more attention is paid to make rooms more comfortable.
