Jiangxi confirms energy saving goal

The steel sector in Jiangxi Province will strive to generate two billion kilowatts per hour of electricity by using renewable energy such as surplus heat and pressure from various facilities by 2012, accounting for 25 percent of the industry's total power consumption. The sector would reduce its consumption of standard coal by 2.3 million tons per year, carbon dioxide emissions by 2.45 million tons, limit its dust emissions to 1 kg per ton of steel, carbon dioxide emissions to 1.8 kg, and recover 100 percent of secondary energy.
