A National Conference on Mining Development and Management held on September 18 showed a number of large or super large iron ore deposits have been discovered in China, totaling over 15 billion tons.
Nearly 10 billion tons are harbored in the Anshan-Benxi area in northeastern Liaoning Province, eastern Hebei Province, Yanzhou in eastern Shandong Province, the Panzhihua-Xichang areas in southern Sichuan Province, and the Luzong region in eastern Anhui Province.
