Fujian employs punitive electricity fees

Fujian Province has decided to revoke the policy aimed at granting discounted electricity fees to heavy energy consuming sectors including steel and ferroalloy. Besides, electricity fees would be raised, starting from June 1, from 0.05 yuan per kilowatt per hour to 0.10 yuan for local steel and ferroalloy producers that have been classified as restricted target and from 0.20 yuan to 0.30 yuan for steel and ferroalloy producers that would be eliminated by the end of 2010.
