According to data from National Bureau of Statistics, China's crude steel output stood at 47.95 million tons in September, a decrease of 5.9 percent from a year before. Daily output was 1.60 million tons, the lowest level since early this year.
Pig iron output was 45.7 million tons, down 6 percent, and the daily average was 1.52 million tons, also hitting a new low this year. Finished steel production was 65.43 million tons, up 4.5 percent.
In the first nine months, China produced 474.53 million tons of crude steel, up 12.7 percent; produced 449.41 million tons of pig iron, up 10.1 percent; and 599.84 million tons of steel products, up 19 percent.
