A large iron ore deposit consisting of five ore-forming belts was found in Golmud City, Qinghai Province, according to the Department of Land and Resources of Qinghai. The 200-meter long deposit is 4.66 to 11.35 meters thick with iron content of 43.16 percent on average, and has an estimated reserve of up to 150 million tons.
