As of the end of September, authorities in Shanxi Province had fulfilled their goals of eliminating outmoded capacity for the whole year 2010.
The government has promised to remove 10.39 million tons of pig iron capacity, 200,000 tons of steel, 5.02 million tons of coke, 200,000 tons of ferroalloy and 1.09 million kilowatts of small thermal power stations this year.
