Yunnan Eliminates 100,000 Tons of Coke Capacity

Despite having achieved its goal of scraping 100,000 tons of coke capacity, the Yunnan government still has a long way to go when it comes to the local iron and steel sector.

In the first seven months, the province eliminated 100,000 tons of pig iron capacity, which is just 5 percent of its targets set for this year.

Yunnan is also planning to eliminate 150,000 tons of steel capacity, but no progress had been made as of the end of July.
