Handan Steel, a subsidiary of Hebei Iron and Steel shut down three 25 t converters (combine capacity 900,000 tons) on September 28, contributing to the early completion of Hebei Province's tasks to eliminate old capacity concerning 163 local firms in ten industrial sectors.
At the same time, the Shandong government has also completed its backward eradiation mission that aims at closing old facilities regarding 70 enterprises this year.
The work of demolishing these facilities will surely be completed by the end of this year.
Similarly, the Guangxi government has attained its goal set by the central government as well, capped by Liuzhou Steel's removing two 425-cubic-meter blast furnaces, one 560,000 tons and the other 580,000 tons, on September 28.
The two furnaces are though to be the largest discarded facilities in China.
