Major mills Raise Prices by 450 Yuan

Baosteel announced on November 11 that it will keep the prices for most steel products unchanged for December shipment, but will raise those of hot-dip galvanized and silicon steel by 100 yuan to 200 yuan per ton.

Hebei Steel and Shagang have decided to lift their prices by as much as 450 yuan per ton from mid-November. Tangshan Steel, Xuanhua Steel and Chengde Steel, all the subsidiaries of Hebei Steel, will raise their wire rod and rebar prices by 200 yuan per ton, while those of coiled bar, hard wire and round bar will be increased by 330 yuan, 100 yuan and 150 yuan per ton respectively. Handan Steel will raise the prices for wire rod, rebar and coiled bar by 250 yuan, 250 yuan and 200 yuan per ton.

Meanwhile, China's largest private steelmaker Shagang will also raise prices for rebar by 400 yuan per ton, increase that of wire rod by 350 yuan and coiled bar by 450 yuan per ton.
