Provincial Goal of Eradicating Backward Facilities

The recent demolition of an outmoded blast furnace mixer of two million tons at Xinyang Iron and Steel marked the beginning of Henan authorities' campaign to eliminate backward steel facilities throughout the province this year. The government plans to break down 1.18 million tons of iron-melting including cast iron, 2.27 million tons of steel, 111,000 tons of ferroalloy and 2.10 million tons of coke capacity.
