Ansteel's Output Hits 30 Million Tons

Ansteel's output of both pig iron and crude steel topped 30 million tons in 2010, thanks to completion of its merger with Panzhihua Steel and the launching of the Bayuquan New Area Project and the Anling Plant.

In environmental protection, from January to November the group saved 455,000 tons of standard coal, 10.79 million tons of fresh water, and reduced chemical oxygen demand, smoke and dust as well as sulfur dioxide emissions by 6.8 percent, 19.8 percent and 22.6 percent respectively. Ansteel developed a total of 6.66 million tons of new products, 28.9 percent of its total output.
