Baosteel to Produce 33 Million Tons of Steel by 2015

Baosteel's crude steel output will increase from 26 million tons at the end of 2010 to 33 million tons by 2015 with much of the production growth going to the cold rolled steel sheet intended for sectors such as automobile, home appliances and machinery. Currently, the company's sales volume of such materials accounts for 40 to 50 percent of its total output.

Baosteel achieved a net profit of 12.8 billion yuan last year, up 120 percent from 2009; obtained basic earnings of 0.73 yuan per share, up 122 percent, and operating revenues of 202.4 billion yuan, up 36 percent.
