During February 15-16, the Yellow River Conservancy Commission held the annual conference in Zhengzhou, which formulated the annual work plan and key tasks of river basin authority in the new year and attracts much attention of all the YRCC staffs.
The two-day conference, in line with the scientific outlook of development and the principle of the Communique of the Sixth plenary meeting of the 17th CPCCC, aimed to implement the instructions of the annual working conference of the Ministry of Water Resources, and summarizes the progress of Yellow River management and to work out the future work plan.
Mr. Xu Cheng, the vice commissioner of YRCC, chaired the conference in the morning of Feb. 15, and Mr. Li Guoying, the commissioner, made an annual working report during the conference.
The objectives of Yellow River development and management in the near future are to realize four important focus, i.e. forming balanced water-sediment relationship is the focus of Yellow River flood and sediment management; the realization of no functional drying-up of the Yellow River is the focus of water resources management and regulation, which means the minimum flow should meet the water demand of economic water use, sediment transportation water use, ecological water use and water quality; improving early warning and emergency management of water pollution accident is the focus of water resources protection; and erosion control of the coarse sand area is the focus of the water and soil conservation in the upper and middle Yellow River basin.
During the conference, various presentation of Yellow River management were also delivered and the awarding ceremony of excellent organizations and individuals was held.
