Vice Minister Hu met his counterpart from Norway

On January 12, 2009, Vice minister Hu Siyi met the delegation from Norwegian Ministry of Petrolem and Energy headed by State Secretary, Ms. Liv Monica Stubholt, in Beijing.

In the meeting, Vice minister Hu expressed his warm welcome to Ms. Liv Monica Stubholt, and consequently made a briefing introduction about the current situation of Chinese water resources, new philosophies of water management and the overall state of hydropower development. Ms. Liv Monica Stubholt conveyed her gratitude for this meeting and also introduced the situations of hydro-energy resources and hydropower development in Norway.

Simultaneously, both sides reviewed the bilateral exchange and cooperation in recent years and exchanged views on further cooperation, especially in the impacts of climate change on hydro-energy resources and hydropower development, and related techniques.

Other attendants include officials from Department of International Cooperation, Science and Technology, Office of General Affairs, Department of Water Resources Management, Bureau of Electrification and Bureau of Hydrology, and Ambassador of Norway, Mr. Svein Ole Saether, also attended the meeting.
