Animal Ambassadors for Animal Welfare

On Nov. 17, the third lesson in the Animal Ambassador Project at Chengdu No. 7 Middle School was implemented. A new word, enrichment , attracted the students attention. Base staff taught the students, via presentations and videos, how zoos and organizations all over the world try to improve the captive condition of animals in their care. During caring for pets role playing activity, students tried to empathize with the animal, then discussed and estimated people s behaviors and attitudes in the activity. The students also know they can help improve animal welfare by watching out for animals and the environment, being responsible pet owners and sharing what they ve learned with others.
