Real Madrid president Florentino Perez this Tuesday spoke highly of club coach Jose Mourinho, saying he is the best in the world.
On various issues surrounding the club on Spanish radio station, Cadena Ser, Perez began by discussing the form of Cristiano Ronaldo and the fact that his side trails FC Barcelona by five points.
Perez said the most important question was what would happen at the end of the season, before discussing coach Jose Mourinho.
"He is the best coach in the world and that is why we signed him. This club puts its faith in excellence and it has to have the best in the world in every position: in the presidency, in the directors and on the bench," said Perez.
Perez tried to calm rumors of bad relations between Mourinho and General Director Jorge Valdano, although he did admit that Mourinho had asked for and been given more freedom to run the first team without interference.
"Those who have a strong ego are those who succeed. He has a four year contract, I am certain he will fulfill it and spend more time at this club," said Perez.
The Real Madrid president also discussed possible signings for next season. Atletico Madrid's Kun Aguero has been mentioned as a target along with Wayne Rooney and Arsenal's Cesc Fabrigas.
"Kun is a great player, but nobody has spoken about the question yet," said Perez, who admitted that club had asked about Atletico striker Diego Forlan.
When asked about Rooney and Fabrigas, Perez hinted that they could be too expensive for his club.
"We will speak to the coach about what we need to sign at the end of the season. People seem to think that Madrid is a factory for making money," he said.
