Brasilian soccer veteran player Roberto Carlos has signed the contract with Russian club of "Anzhi " in North Caucasus region, the Anzhi club announced on Wednesday.
Makhachkala, the capital of Russian republic of Dagestan was expected to welcome the defender on Saturday, the club added.
Now, Anzhi are on training gathering in Turkey.
Earlier in February, local media had reported Carlos's move, but the club had not given any comment to the reports.
According to those reports, period of validity of Carlos' contract makes one and a half or two and a half years.
The reports also cited the Brazilian edition Globo Esporte, saying Carlos would earn six millions euros in the season of 2011- 2012 if he serves one and a half year in Anzhi.
37-year-old Carlos has played for Brazil's "Korintians" since 2010, but recently terminated his contract with the club.
Serving for Brazilian national football team, Carlos has spent 125 matches and hammered 11 goals in his career.
