CNOOC Gas and Power Group's third CDM project registered with UN

The CNOOC Gas and Power Group has successfully had its third CDM project verified and registered with the United Nations, according to media report. The CDM project, launched by Zhongshan Jiaming Electric Power, a subsidiary of the CNOOC Gas and Power Group, is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by nearly 1 million metric tons annually.

French energy giant Total's Gas and Power subsidiary in Britain will be on the buyer side of the CDM project. The project is expected to deepen the cooperation between Total, the world's leading oil and gas company, and CNOOC, China's largest offshore oil and gas producer and parent of CNOOC Ltd.
